CNY 2012 Day 2: OOTD ~ ETUDE HOUSE ~ It's Skin ~ Contact Lenses Product Review

Yesterday CNY Day 2, I'd posted my OOTD on Instagram (as shown below). I used several Iphone apps to achieve the following effects. If you wish to download the apps, they are:
Camera360 - Super good camera app! I totally loving it! I had been taking alot of photos using this app, it will not save direct to your photo library yet, but only after you process them, you be able to save them to your phone, otherwise no matter how many photos you take, they will all be stored under the app, categorised by dates. The photos your stored in the app, can be re-edited for countless times without spoiling the original photos. So far, this is the only app I've came across that has the most effects to choose from, i love using it! ^^
iQuikDoF - Best Dof app for blurring out the background so focus is on the subject only. Its easy to use, just paint over the subject and then process it. Painted area remains sharp while others all will be blurred. Blur effect can be from 1 to 100%.
Pixlromatic - Another app that gives many different effects and borders. I usually use Camera360 first to process once, do a iQuikDoF and then use Pixlr to add in more effects for the final touch. ^^

Military OOTD
Navy blue double breasted coat+chiffon cape - Bought from Hong Kong last year, but this is my first time wearing it! ^_^
Beige-Black patterned mini skirt - Bought from Hong Kong. Totally love this skirt x 100000 times! ^^
Grey Houndstooth patterned tights - Taiwan. I also have an exact pair in browns.
Heels - Mondo
Bag - Clares & Keith
White Furry accessory (hang on my bag)- Hong Kong. It was actually double the length of the current, cos my cat Mimi bite it into pieces, this is what is left now =_=
For below pic I didn't use iQuikDoF becos Camera360 app also has blur effect (Tilt-shift in vertical lens).
Original pic taken with Camera360

I use all 3 mentioned apps to PS the below pic.

On CNY Day 2, I played with my other Nymph Aura product, which is the Nymph Aura Loose Powder! ^^ Read HERE for review on Nymph Aura Volumer

ETUDE HOUSE Nymph Aura Loose Powder Ingredients & Swatches:
Saw from the ingredient list that this loose powder is NOT Talc-free.

I picked the #1 Natural Pearl Aura as I have medium dull skin tone, and the other shade is in pink pearl which i think my face would look ashy with that shade. Though from the swatch below, the powder looks almost white, but it is actually beige.

Review of ETUDE HOUSE Nymph Aura Loose Powder:
It has this cooling effect when I first powdered it on my face, the powder is very fine and makes my face looks glittery. The glitters however aren't big enough to be noticed at a distance, its only noticeable under certain lightings (like spot light), at some angles or if I look at my face really upclose infront of mirror.
The shade looks kinda whitish on my face when I applied my first puff of powder, but after smoothing it out, it doesn't make my face look ashy unlike other loose powders. It appears translucent but with slight white glow in it.
I worn this out for about 6 hours and so far I didn't experience anything drastic or whatever..lolx.. The wind nowadays had been super strong. Whenever I step out of the building, the wind blew against me was so strong that my hair flew upwards. (Imagine that! LOLX!)
So perhaps, today when I stepped out, my powder already GONE WITH THE WIND. kekekekx~
Overall, I like this loose powder because of the slight cooling effect it gives plus the main point is that it doesn't make my face looks super white. ^.^

The other product I hauled from Korea (See HERE for all the stuffs I bought) is this...
ETUDE HOUSE VIP Girl Dear Darling Lips in PK008 7500won: ~ SGD$8.80
Super cheap eh? =D In addition, the casing is SOOoOooo cute! And when I turn the lippie out, immediately I "AWWwwwwww~" Such sweet pink shade! ^^ It kinda reminds me of Mac Viva Glam Lady Gaga Lipstick (which till now, I still havent buy!), but this seems to look cooler, like Pink 4 Friday. I think I still prefer Viva Glam Lady Gaga because I prefer warm tone pinks.

Yesterday (CNY Day 2)  I used these 2 lippies. Mainly, i use It's Skin #05 for lining, and Etude house for filling the lips.

Swatches of both lippies

On my lips, both look ALMOST similar. As I have pigmented lips, some how the swatch on my lips will turn out different from what I swatched on my hand and it might also be different from others who swatch on their lips.
Sorry for the confusion (^^"), basically the idea is that, if I want to achieve an accurate swatch, I would need to apply concealer on my lips first, before swatching the lipstick. As for here, I didn't do it because I wanted to test whether they are pigmented enough to cover my pigmented lips. And infact, they do!

Left with Etude House lippie, Right with It's Skin

Review of ETUDE HOUSE VIP Girl & It's Skin Color Play I Black Jewel Lip Rouse:
ETUDE HOUSE VIP Girl Dear Darling Lips PK008: Pigmented, smooth & easy to apply on lips. However it will look streaky if I run it over a few times. As my lips have lots of wrinkles (Oh NO! >_<;) the lippie gets trapped in between lines and its quite obvious. It accentuate the lines & wrinkles even more if I keep on applying the lippie. But usually for such cases, I will top it with lip gloss to solve the problem. ^^ Overall, I quite like the shade and would still want to continue using it so long I'm still into the BARBIE PINK phrase. lolx~

It's Skin Color Play I Black Jewel Lip Rouse #05 Love Pink: I love this coral pink shade! I never regret for grabbing this during my trip to KL, it was kind of a random buy as I just wanted to own ANY 1 THING (or maybe 2 or more) from IT'S SKIN. Lolx~
I use this as a lip liner and also as a base to conceal my pigmented lips. The pigments doesn't trap in between the wrinkles or lines, hence my lips look smooth when I smile. (unlike ETUDE HOUSE's) The only problem is that it's quite drying, so I need to be careful not to use this when I have crack/peeling lips.
And another thing which I don't like is that this lippie had to be sharpened. I'm super lazy when it comes to such thing.kekex~

Review of CooperVision Biofinity & Encore Colours Contact Lens:
Before the Chinese new year, I bought a few pair of lenses so that I can see my relative faces clearer. lolx!
I bought CooperVision Biofinity contact lenses for ~$55 & Encore Colours for ~$20 (I forgot exactly how much), got OPTI-FREE solution as gift.
All I can say about these 2 lenses is, they SUCK.
CNY Day 1, I worn Biofinity for whole day. When I got home, my eyes are like so dry. I almost bang my head to the wall because the lenses STICK on my eyeball and it wouldn't bulge! I poured solution into my eyes but the lenses just stick to my eyes like suction pads. I had to SLOWLY scrap the lens off from one eye, and for the other, I used finger to push it outside of my cornea (or iris) forcefully to the white area and then pinched it out.
CNY Day 2, I worn Encore Colours lenses for 6 hours. Immediately the moment I put on, my eyes feel irritated. But I keep telling myself not to focus on the lenses otherwise, it'll be much more irritated x 2. However, I had to keep blinking when I am in the Air-conditioned place and at some parts, it stings bad which make me tear & ruin my eyeliner. At about the 2nd hour, my eyes already turned red.

I thought it was either my eyes or the contact lenses solution that was the problem. I probably will give the lenses a try again when I find an opportunity to do so. I wouldn't want to risk my eyes wearing such lenses for the whole day (like at work or shopping), I might just test them out again for just an hour at home in both air-condition room and outdoor, so to understand what exactly is the cause. I just hope I didn't get any dry eye syndrome or something. (≥⌂≤")

Before I end this post... Everyone just take a look at this picture.... Did you spot something? (Hint: It's not my cat that I'm refering to, take a closer look... if you can/can't see it, comment below...)

Thanks for reading! Hope all of you had a great day on your CNY Day 2!~ ^o^

Till then! Cheers! (●♡●)

Product names written and coloured in turquoise were given by its company to me for trial.

Comic Fiesta 2011 @ KLCC: My Cosplay & Beauty Haul (pic intensive!)

This post is somewhat the continuation of my previous X'mas-New Year post. ^^ (Read HERE for the previous post)

Last year Dec 16-19, I and a few friends went to Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur for a Cosplay event, Comic Fiesta 2011. The CF 2011 was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and we stayed only a walking distance away, which is the Impiana Hotel.

The Petronas Twin Towers taken at night with Iphone. I posted this pic on that day in Instagram.

This is not my first time going to KL as previous was a work trip at some ulu KL industrial area, but I totally never been in KL town area before so most of the shopping places were recommended by my friends. Our first stop was at Nandos @ Sungei Wang. Heard that Nandos in Malaysia is 100% yummier than Singapore + cheap + no service charge! So yah, I tried one of their set meal. It was OK for me. My friends mentioned that the chicken thigh has shrunk and the taste wasn't that yummy like last time. They were rather disappointed.
The MILD flag is actually the spiciness level. I love adding the Garlic sauce from the bottle, my food taste nicer with the garlic ^^

Then we proceed to Sungei Wang for shopping, cos my friends said Sungei Wang is the best shopping place in KL, its like Far East Plaza, there are many levels and many shops in there and all their stuffs are CHEAAPPPppp~.
And what did I do? I went to a SALON to BLEACH my hair. (Not cheap though, cost me RM400!) Lolx~ I wanted to do it because I'm need my hair to be yellow for my cosplay on the CF Day 2. Below is a magazine which I was reading while I'm doing my hair. Fashion bloggers magazine! When will Singapore have their own Fashion/Beauty Bloggers magazine? o_O The contents inside the mag was very interesting! ^^

We then had Korean BBQ for dinner! Funny thing for this restaurant is that the staff in there said "SA WA DI KA!" to welcome customers. Isn't that THAI????!!! Lolx!~ Anyways, I LOVEEEEEEE The meat!!!! Its tender, thickness was just nice, so I don't find it hard to chew but yet, its thick enough to spill juices inside my mouth. *mouth watering meat~* I was still craving for more after we finished cos th BBQ set was shared among 5 of us. =p

And my small Haul @ Sungei Wang... Nothing much eh? I was in need of face mist (forgot to bring to KL) so dropped by Etude house to get 1 ^^ and look at the pretty paper bag they gave me~ BTW, it was a man who served me at Etude house.. Shouldn't singapore start recruiting male BAs now? We are like WAYYYYY behind! Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia they all employ handsome male BAs! SG should have too! >,<

After half a day of shopping & eating, we all PENGS cos we din have any sleep at all on the previous day!!!!!~ (The long couch was REALLY COMFY!~ <^o^<)

The next day was Comic Fiesta Day 1. I wasn't cosplaying as I only intend to do for CF Day 2. And here shows me in my newly bleached hair. (Its SUPA DRY I TELL YOU! >_< I think I could die if I don't mask it.)

I do not know which korean character is the lady cosplaying, anyone knows? But it look fantastic! With the hair and everything! And then POKEMON!!! My fav nintendo game when I was young.. lolx~

Most cosplayers were all standing in the holding area walking around taking pics, including us. hahax~ I didn't really took alot of the cosplayer photos as I'm about 80% handicap myself..^^" Cos I need to carry my long skirt tail when I walk, otherwise people will step on it!

Finally, we on our way walking back to hotel via the overhead bridge. The bridge was always empty, so we jumped on the chance, had a few shots of our own before going back hotel. ^^

Photos by Data~

Yuanie, Hoshi, Data, mi!

Data took some pics for me at the lobby. One of them is this which I'm sitting down! This pic enhances my blue eyes really well! Uh i mean blue lens~ While the blur pic on the right is taken using Iphone with help from Yuanie @ the corridor outside our room. ^^"

On the 4th day, which is our last day in KL, Hoshi and I went shopping. YEAH, at last! (Yuanie was at a photoshoot)
We walked from our hotel to Pavilion. There were tons of BEARS displayed outside the Pavilion, featuring each country's paintings & designs on the bear. Some of the designs are pretty obvious where its from, I compiled a few bears to show to all as seen below.
Anyone can guess the replica version of winnie the pooh is from_____???? And guess which is Singapore's???

We then walk to Sungei Wang, and on the way went in other malls to take a look.
I also went in Sephora and found out that their stuffs are sold slightly cheaper than Singapore! I din buy anything though, cos the lighting in there was Orange, I can't see the swatches whether they are beige/yellow/orange or wat! I hate their lightings <∆<"

Product Review: The Saem GEM MIRACLE ~ Leaders Clinic ~ CRYSTAL

2 months back, I received a parcel from JoyPharm. It was sent to me for review. ^-^v~
Ah~ Yes I took rather long to review this as I'm really tied up with work and many other events which took away almost all my Off days, thus making it even harder for me to find some free time to blog about it. ^^"

See the cute kitty beside my nick......I love kitties! =^ὼ^=

In this small parcel, packed lots of stuffs~ ^^
- 2 pcs Leaders Clinic I.P.L Whiteluc Ampoule Masks
- 2 pcs Leaders Clinic Platinum V-Lift Essential Masks
- 4 satchets The Saem GEM MIRACLE Black Pearl O2 Bubble Masks
- 4 trial packs The Saem GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V 10C Lifting Serum
- 1 trial size The Saem GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V Lifting Toner
- 1 trial size The Saem GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V Lifting Emulsion
- 2 mini size It's Skin Prestige Tonique d'escargot I
- 2 mini size It's Skin Prestige Lotion d'escargot I
- 1 trial CRYSTAL Body Deodorant Spray

And 1 cute note from Joyce ^.^

If its your first time hearing about The Saem, view the website HERE. (The Saem pronounced as The 'Sam'. Initially I tot was The Siam. lolx~)
This korean cosmetic brand The Saem endorsed by singer and actor Lee Seung Gi is number 1 product among consumers.

The Saem GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V Lifting Toner
I was given a 20ml to try on and this toner lasted me only 1 week. To view its original size products, clicky HERE (What nice pictures this site has! SNOWWWW~~~~ ^^)
In this toner, it has mini bits of 'diamond' forming a milky way within the bottle. And the diamonds are what seems to be mica.
I'm sorry that I couldn't get the ingredient list in English as it seems that there isn't any reviews of GEM MIRACLE when I goggled it. =_=" Anyways, I'm sure mica (or a secondary name) is in the list since its VISIBLE here in the pic. lolx~ As mentioned before (HERE: Loreal white eye cream) that I personally don't like skincare which contains mica because they can't be absorbed by the skin, so it doesn't do any help except for making your skin sparkly under the light, hence I would use it only in the day. But for this time, I use it day & night so as to get optimal results. ^_^

Review of GEM MIRACLE Diamong Cutting V Lifting Toner:
It is a soft gel type toner, almost felt like a serum but alittle more watery as it's able to flow smoothly down my hand when I tilt it over.
When spread out, kazillions of 'diamonds' were seen sparkling through the toner making my skin look oh so 'expensive' hahax!~ I quite like the effect here! ^^
After the toner gets absorbed, the 'diamonds' aren't that visible anymore. What's left is the slightly firm & moisturised feeling of the skin, and it smells pretty nice too. Because of its gel form, when poured onto a cotton pad, the pad felt rather dry. I had to pour out alot of the content to make sure the pad is drenched with the toner before I start to use it on my skin. After patting the cotton pad on my face for awhile, the pad starts to get dry again. Its difficult to use a cotton pad when the toner is in a gel like form, as it tends to dry up or evaporates faster than a toner that's in watery form.

The Saem GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V 10C Lifting Serum
GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V10C Lifting Serum is no 1 top selling in The Saem, want to know why? Watch this video ^^
After this was broadcasted, the Serum was then named as 'Lee Sueng Gi Serum' kekekex~

Due to most of the stuffs are written in Korean, I had to depend on various translators to do some simple write-up of this Best Seller serum! Pls bare with me for the lousy translation! ^.^"
Diamonds, the eternal symbol of beauty and cutting-edge nano-technology with MLV skin safe validation active ingredients makes a difference for the optimal gel firming serum. Power lifting formula gives powerful firming effect, restores sagging skin & firms jaw line. It's time to put up the best light and shine brilliantly as the V line is formed.
Seriously, I don't know what I'm translating, I felt I'm just writing nonsense... hahhax!~ o(>▽<)o

And here is my Lee Seung Gi serum swatch... hahax~ ^3^
1 mini pack of this can only allow 2 applications (Day & Night). Hence, 4 packs makes up 8 applications = 4 days of usage only ^^

Review of GEM MIRACLE Diamong Cutting V 10C Lifting Serum:
There are as much 'diamonds' in the serum as like in the Lifting toner. This is a thick gel type serum where it doesn't quite flows when I tilt it over.
When used, it doesn't felt greasy, easily absorbed to skin and gives a firming feel to my skin.
I shall say that, I love the serum the most in compare to the toner & emulsion as this is the only product that gives a greater firming effect when used. The skin felt firmer but has this slight stickiness after-feel. At the same time, it moisturises my skin, doesn't makes my skin flake or feels dry.

The Saem GEM MIRACLE Diamond Cutting V Lifting Emulsion
This Lifting Emulsion probably is the only 1 product that doesn't contain mica in it.

Review of GEM MIRACLE Diamong Cutting V 10C Lifting Emulsion:
This is the least likable item of the 3 as the emulsion felt greasy.
The emulsion texture is like any other milky emulsion or lotions. After application, it takes awhile for the skin to absorb. I will usually do some massaging on face so as to assist the emulsion to be absorbed by my skin quickly.
After-effect was a shiny greasy look on my skin, but non-sticky feel.
I still experience some minor oil bumps at the end of day (this is actually common for my face) when I'm using the above 3 GEM MIRACLE skincare products.
Also, I try not to apply this emulsion as much as the serum or toner because of the greasiness, hence this bottle of 20ml emulsion lasted for more than 2 weeks.

The Saem GEM MIRACLE Black Pearl O2 Bubble Masks
1 satchet for 1 usage. The bubble mask like its sisters, also contains mica in it. The mica doesn't bother me since this is a wash-off mask.

While I say "BUBBLES AWAY", infact the bubbles DID NOT go away! The bubbles stayed on even after 15 mins and it even multiplies to even more bubbles. =_= I nearly couldn't breathe because the bubbles start to grew and covers my nostrils.
See below pic, NO NOSTRILS! Lolx~

The correct procedure of applying the Bubble mask is something like this:
After cleansing, pump mask from bottle onto hand, spread mask over the entire face except the eyes. Black Pearl oxygen-enriched bubbles raises, then massage it till all the bubbles pops and rinse with lukewarm water.

After massaging, it looks like this:
Sorry to scare all of you with my scare face ^^" Marks on my face are caused by my itchy hands!
Review of GEM MIRACLE Black Pearl O2 Bubble Mask:
I followed exactly the application procedures but I find it hard to massage without a little help of water. I tried to massage my bubbled face with dry hands and it doesn't move, because underneath all these bubbles, the skin is dry and tight. I had to wet my hands to do it.
Once massaging is done, all the bubbles pops. Then I'll wash off my face with water.
After using the masks, I felt there isn't much difference to my skintone. It didn't look brighter, whiter or did it help in terms of anti-oxidation.
I had used before several types of bubble masks and some did gives instant radiant to my skin, so I did a comparison between Black Pearl O2 bubble mask and the other bubble masks that I had.
After comparison, I feel that what this bubble mask does is, it gives me firmer skin. It also makes me skin alittle smoother but it just doesn't gives me brighter skin, no matter how many times i use. <_<"

Review of Leaders Clinic Platinum V-Lift Essential Mask:
This mask is comparable to the b.liv mask that I just reviewed. Why I said so is because of the fibre or material used for its mask.
Leaders Clinic mask are made of silky cellulose fibre, its good in absorbing serum, and helps in transferring the goodness to the skin and also preventing the serum from evaporating within a short period of time. It is unlike other masks I used which the serum often evaporates pretty fast, some took only 10 mins, leaving a dry mask on my skin before I knew it.
Upon putting on V-Lift Essential Mask, my skin felt instantly refreshed. The mask fits nicely onto my face.
There are more than enough serum for the mask to be fully soaked inside the package, and also enough for me to pour the remaining out to apply on my neck & arms.
After putting on V-Lift Essential Mask for 20 mins, I massage the remaining serum into my skin with dry hands. The serum was absorbed quickly, my skin felt really supple and alittle firm. My laugh lines and wrinkles are not so visible as before.
No greasy, irritation, oil-bumps after usage except it gives me a slight sticky after-feel.
There's a choice either to rinse off or not after the serum is fully absorbed, because some serum are very rich, I felt it might be alittle too much for my skin to handle, so I will usually do a quick rinse and then proceed on with my daily skincare regimen.
Price: Leaders Clinic Masks are sold $2.50 per piece at JoyPharm  (Usually sold at more than $4.95 at Guardian & Sephora)

Leaders Clinic I.P.L Whiteluc Ampoule Mask

Review of Leaders Clinic I.P.L Whitelux Ampoule Mask:
Similar to the V-Lift Essential Mask, this Whitelux Ampoule Mask is also made of the same fibre thus it is as good as the previous mask.
The only difference I feel is that this mask gives me a more radiant skin. The results are usually visible once I took off the mask, massage it into my skin and rinse off the excess serum. But the next day, my face will be back to the same old face I always sees it as.
I would probably, like the packaging states, need to mask every 2-3 times a week for 1 month (an intensive skin management) so as to see optimal results.
For the time being, I'm at least liking the fact that it does make my face look slightly fairer after wash off. And not forgetting that it also makes my skin feels supple and smooth too. ^^

CRYSTAL Body Deodorant Spray
This is given to me for my personal trial only, it is not sold at JoyPharm's website.
The original spray looks like this (Image credits to: www.thecrystal.com)
Stick: (Image credits to: www.thecrystal.com)

When I heard of CRYSTAL, i immediately thought of the Deodorant stick which I bought last time. I first heard of salt sticks used as deodorant from a friend of mine many years ago. She mentioned it was like the BEST deodorant she ever bought and that the stick can only be bought from Japan, but she didn't told me the brand then. One day, I went Sasa and saw this CRYSTAL deodorant stick, I got excited and bought 2, 1 for my friend and 1 for myself. After using, I really like this stick! Its unscented, non-sticky, non-drying and it maintains good body odour all day.
And this time, I got the CRYSTAL Deodorant Spray which Joyce sent to me, to play with! ^^ Thanks joyce!
Almost similar to the stick, it is unscented, non-sticky, non-drying (after the water gets absorbed) and prevents me from smelling bad after a long day at work or outdoors. To REALLY test out the deodorants, I usually *ahem* lift arms up and sniff around to check if there's any smell on my body. When I'm using CRYSTAL, i find that my body's almost unscented as well! lolx.. I could still get a tiny bit of soury-sweaty smell if I sniff harder or stick my nose against the skin but hey! unless its your BF, else I don't think people would really get so upclose to your body eh? ^^"
Overall, I'm liking this body deodorant spray as much as I like my deodorant stick! Just that the spray is so much easier to use, cos its just... Spray! Wherelse for the stick I have to run it under tap water to wet it first before I apply it at my underarms.

Once again, thanks to Joyce from JoyPharm for providing me the products to try on. I think I'm already looking at myself buying some stuffs from her, especially the masks! ^^ They are so cheap!
