Korean Minx Nails Review: Black-White Checkered Pattern

YES! You didn't read wrong! IT IS MINX!!
I had talked about Minx Nails the last time (click HERE to read previous Minx post), and had wanting to try out Minx and now, I was given a chance to do so!

Thanks so much to Joanna from therunway-show@blogspot~ (^__^)v~

The kind soul asked which design I would wish to try and so, I'm thinking since now there's this F1 race, I'll take Black-white checkered (look like the race flag design yah?) NAHHHHhhh~~ Just kidding =p
I chose it because it looked PUNK to me! I love checks! Though I'm not wearing Punk anymore.. (there goes my Punk-sai theory again) but the checks could look cool with any outfit!

And now on with the pictures! ^_^

I'd read through the step by step tutorial first before I try them on my fingers!
Click the pics to enlarge the tutorial pics.

Korean Minx Nails material is a kind of foil/film (though thin, but its rather firm) with an adhesive back. The body will not crease when you peel it off from the plastic, except for the starting point where you scratch to peel it out.

Even though I've read the tutorial and following exactly the steps, but I find that the minx stickers still crease at certain edges.
I am so looking forward to flawless, creaseless Minx nails hence I trial and error in  different ways on the Minx starting from my first to the last finger, achieving different results on every one of them.
1. Sticking the Minx on centre of nail plate aligning the base nearest to my cuticle, pressing down the minx with flat end of wooden stick. Starting from centre and slowly pushing towards edges.
2. Same method of applying the Minx, but this time I use my finger to press the Minx and slowly pushing towards edges so to reduce bubbles and creases. It seems that fingers work better than wooden stick. Creases reduced and minx look more smooth.
3. When there is a crease, I use wooden stick to flatten the crease.
4. I use finger nail to flatten the crease.
5. I use hair straightener's high heat to heat at the creases a longer time, to see if it can shrink or soften the crease. After which using wooden stick to flatten it. It seems that it works alittle bit better than without heat.
6. Using hair straightener high heat to go over the minx after sticking it to the nail. It didn't shrink so whatsoever.
7. I cut the Minx base that fits my cuticle shape before pealing out from the plastic.
8. I applied both base and top coat before and after the Minx nail application.

I'd only tried it on my left hand, cos its easy to apply it with my right hand. My left hand is almost handicap in nail polishing and art & craft works. =_="
I will be looking out for better ways to apply the Minx nails so it will look like the one on my ring and pinky finger, which is almost to perfect. If you girls had tried Minx and have better suggestions pls feel free to comment! =)

Before I end this, there're few conclusions I'd came out with after trying out on the Korean Minx Nails:
1. Got to file your nail plates to smooth it, otherwise the surface of  Minx Nails will not look smooth too
2. A rounder, more perfect shaped nail plate will be of advantage in using Minx Nails, as its original template has a very rounded base (cuticle end)
3. The 10 Minx nails all comes in different sizes, hence need to measure to your nail plate size before application. (Its said that left fingers are slightly smaller than right, so use whichever size suits your nails.)
4. Cuticles need to be pushed back and/or cut neatly, otherwise Minx nails will peel off easily at the edges
5. Minx nails has short lifespan. I wore it for only 1 day and it started to wear at free edge, but was said that it should only wear to that extend and will not wear any further. Perhaps also, its the application method which I might not be doing it in the rightest way. All users can trial and error on their own in order to get it right and able to give it a longer lifespan.
6. Got to apply topcoat everyday to prolong its lifespan.
7. Its fun to apply Minx! Though it looks rather tedious but there is very short waiting time, no worries in smudging your nail polish or whatsoever! I can even buy a few sets and change the nail patterns every 1-2 weeks already! ^o^~

Once again, thank you Joanna for giving the chance to tryout and review for your Minx nails! ^_^
Ladies who wish to try out Minx nails can go to
therunway-show@blogspot now to take a look, they are having Set Promo right now!

In future I look forward to try out GOLD MInx Nails! Hehehex~ ^▽^
Lastly, i know I do not have nice yummy looking fingernails like most of you, so please be kind with me yah... m(U_U)m *bows*

Till then! Cheers! (●♡●)

Coloring Seminar by Rodica Hristu (Natural, Cool Browns and Blondes) & a Kpop fangirl-ing...

This is such a long ago post that I should have put up earlier but I'm lazy... =p

17th August I joined the coloring seminar (for Natural, Cool Browns & Blondes) conducted by GoldWell. The seminar was given by Rodica Hristu, an award-winning Canadian Colorist.
I'm very glad that my hair was both washed and coloured by her during the pre-colour session. A very fun experience I must say. ^.^ Its my first time that I got to cover my face with towel when someone washes my hair at the basin! hahax~ Rodica (i kept saying Veronica/ Ronica when I spoke to her. =_=" Opss..) is a very very nice lady, I had alot of fun talking with her and being her hair model. She's very experienced and knows very well the end results she wanted to acheive on each individual model's hair.
I had been fully blonde/yellow/gold headed and long hair-ed almost for few years now, its time for some drastic change! And indeed it was eh. ^.^

Just about 2 weeks before the colouring seminar, my hair was cut short during Daniel Ng's (CD, Kim Robinson)'s workshop. But this time my hair's EVEN shorter! I thought I don't need to cut anymore for this round but... O_O"
Anyhoo, on with the pics!

Rodica & me~ (I look so happy in here!)

miwitch's Video Style Product Review: Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover

Few days ago I already posted my review for Biore remover, this time round, I'm going VIDEO STYLE!

I got excited when I receive a request from BeautyMap to do a video of it. SOOOooo excited that I actually told them my palms are sweating! I don't do videos at all so I almost freak out upon getting that request.

BUT, in another way I think its fun too. Probably once i get used to videos, I will keep on posting vids instead of pics.. =p (lazy ah... and when I get darn lazy than this, I'll start to talk in the vid.. ^_^")

So... this is my FIRST EVER VIDEO (self shoot, self made), a totally new idea of how to review a remover! SOoOoo wacky that you guys probably would laugh at me, but DON'T LAUGH! hahahax....~ (right, i'm laughing at myself)
This video is super long... 6mins+! (its more like a tutorial than a review! =_=" *sweats*) And took me 2 hours to shoot cos my cam ran out of battery, SD card ran out of space... I kept running back to my comp to upload the vids so I can take more. What an experience for my first time huh? =_="

FRANKLY.... speaking, The review vid is NOT really my first vid.. THIS IS!
I made this vid as I was trying out the new DLed Windows Movie Maker. This vid definitely is nicer!
You got handsome cat and pretty dog to see, what else do you want more? o_O

Something funny happened @ 00:30.. SPOT IT! ^.^

ENJOY!!

Review: KissMe Heroine Make, Fasio Hyper Stay Mascara & Rohto Arctic Eye Drops

Today, I'm gonna do things that concern with eyessss..... Yah, and you probably might freak out looking at my scary blood shot eyessssss..
I can SHOOT blood from these eyes I tell you! (◈_◈) phtzzzzzzzzz~~~~ splat~ splat~~ splaaaahhhhttt~~~

Review: KissMe Heroine & Fasio Hyper Stay Mascara

Here, I tried on my recent hauled product KissMe Heroine Make long & curl Mascara on my left eyelash. (which is = your right)
And Fasio Hyper-stay Mascara (Magne-plus Curl Long) on my right eyelash. (= your left)

FYI: My lashes are very little, very thin, moderate length, sparse and uh... very thin.

1st pic: Lashes without any primer/clear mascara, curled using Shiseido lash curler. Look as if I got no lash there! =_="
2nd & 3rd pic:
1 coat of mascara. I applied by stroking in upwards motion, zigzap at the roots, then stroke downwards, and lastly upwards again.
4th pic:
2nd coat of mascara for both eyes using same method as above.

Comparison of the 2 mascaras:
I prefer KissMe Heroine's (credits:http://kimoko.livejournal.com) applicator (brush head). The bristles are wonderful to work with! I find the bristles are so fine, they get in between every lashes (i know i got like 7, 8, hm.. uh.. 9 lashes only!) and minimum clumps found!
From the pic, I see both mascaras lengthed very well with just 1 coat.
On the 2nd coat, my Fasio side starts to clump at the roots and the content already stained my lids, while Heroine's side didn't stain or clump that badly.
However, both did make my lashes a little bit more thicker.

Conclusion:
I prefer KissMe Heroine Mascara now as I just simply love the applicator, how easy it is to apply the brush to my lashes without staining my lids. I also love how easy it gets around my lashes at the inner & outer corner of my eyes. Those places are super hard to reach. If you can see carefully, the fasio side has a few untouched lashes (about 2 strands?) at the inner corner. Its rather hard for the applicator to reach there so I usually just leave it.

Sorry that I could not do this test on the lower lashes because I have zero little of it!

Shot 28 Aug, 8 & 9 Sep: OOTDs ~ LOTDs

Something off topic for a while.. I've always said my cat drools on keyboard and some of you might wonder how he actually can DROOL on my keyboard.. So here is..
My lovely Mimi the cat (its a boy!) who is in his cutest position.... : On my lap. (XD~)

In middle of night when he can't sleep or gets bored from doing nothing but sleep, he will stand up and put his paws on my chair, looking up at me to ask for my permission to cuddle him.
And so here is his usual position: Head on my right arm (sometimes even lying his whole head on it till my arms got numb), his body on my lap, under the keyboard slider (is that what you call it, slider?)...
Sometimes he will lay his head on the slider when his neck gets tired, resulting drools on the keyboard...

When I whip out my camera, he claws at the strap... He's a very good clawer i must say, hence the scars on my hands and leg...
He stays on my lap for about 15-30 mins before finally realising that he's not in a good sleeping posture, and Off he goes to lay somewhere more comfortable... =^.^=
One more extra picture of his head on the slider: (pic taken long ago)

Right, on to the usual stuffs.. //^____^//

Nowadays, I dress up in styles that suits my hair. I chose clothes towards rock, punk, manly styles. I'd neglected my sweet, cutesy dresses for some time ever since my hair got cut to this length. (,=∧=,)

On 28 Aug, my OOTD: Stylish Boy look

Again, with my hairstyle I am not able to pair it with a pretty white dress in cute shoes and all that.. Urghhh.. (kinda start to get frustrated with super short hair now..>,<)

I cried for few days now, as my body is too heaty and that always make my eyes feel very hot and it gets all sensitive and tear lots non-stop.. It kept ruin my eye makeup!!! (#$^%@)#%_(_@$*%@#&$

THIS IS DA BREAKTHROUGH!!!
Have you ever tried to do a look that you had decided in your mind which probably gonna look great but turned out "Sharks... why isn't it like what I wanted..?"
Well yah, it happens to me zillion of times.
I have this borderline that my eyeshadows will always stop at, and it doesn't ever go beyond it. I feel that there is this big lobang (empty space) between the brow and my e/s border line (as drawn on left pic)
I been telling myself many times to blend the colours higher! HIGHER! But it just don't go up!
But this time! I think I broke that line! See how "ROUND" my e/s appears on my lid on the right pic, compare to the left which is "FLAT". HA,HA! YES I did it!

On 9 Sept, my colleagues and I had a dinner gathering at Robertson Quay. There's this new shop opened by my colleague's husband. They sell North Indian food! YUM! One of my favourite! I just can't stop thinking of NAANsssssss (credits http://www.sailusfood.com).

Their shop is call BAR BAR BLACK SHEEP, selling North Indian Cuisines. Its very very nice OMG, I think I was the only person who ate ALOT. XD~
If you girls often go to the quay, you can try this out! Beside this store, is another bar selling beer and such (I'm not an alcohol person, i know NUTS about them...~_~) The 2 stores share the same building. So you can eat naans and drink beer. kekekex~

Well then, since I thought of Quay, I thought of sitting near the river (indeed we were! so cooling and cozy~) relaxing, chit chat-ing while having my favourite Naans... etc..
So I plan to dress in my utmost relaxed mode... style. ---- Beach wear!
OOTD: Relax mode look
Inner Red Spag: Chinatown Level 2
Frilly Blue Shorts: Chinatown Level 2
Flamingo Racer Back Long Top: Pull & Bear
Necklace & Leather Bracelet: China
Gladiator Shoes: AMK HUB Black Hammer

Beachy (not bitchy!) LOTD:
Face - SANA Pore Putty Makeup Base Clear

- VOV Eyeshadow Palette 05 (Blue)

Lips - Callas Lip Liner in BE01
- YSL Rouge Volupte 30 Lipstick
I love how the Coral lips matches well with the eye makeup! ^.^ But the lipstick ends up together with my Naans, in my stomach =p

IGNOTE MY MESSY BROWS!! (AGAIN!)
The e/s appears rather translucent or washed-off.. O2 Skin seem to be not very pigmented and blendable. VOV works alittle better than O2 Skin.

O2 Skin in MC2947 (Yellow) & MC2911 (Green)
VOV Eyeshadow Palette 05 (Blue)

And Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all muslims out there! May you get as many 'green' pows as possible!

The KOSÉ Walkthrough - With Robin Niu (Niu Er) *pics intensive*

AH HA! I got you! Isn't the Taka bag alluring? Waiting to see what's inside? =D Read on!
(The title 'The Kose walkthrough' sounded like a Game walkthrough heh...)
This time round I try to have less words and more pics.. ^_^ (Its gonna be hard cos I always talk alot.......Yap.)

KOSÉ Walkthrough I - The Talk

I joined Na's "Niu Er Beauty Talk" contest and the True Random Number Generator like mi! So I was picked along with Hazel, Candy, Verlyn, Christie to go for the talk for free!
We all seated right in the centre first row! (Verlyn & Candy's voices add together is equivalent to a row of ladies voices... =X)

Hazel, Candy & mi! (Verlyn and Christie came after that)

I am usually very conscious about how my hair looks but that day apparently I got so tired and frustrated cos of my menses and my hair just look like toilet bowl cover 马桶盖. Gahhhh~ See I look so fugly in all the pics taken on that day! =_="

Clara and Na invited as guest speakers on stage with Niu Er! (Pic Credits to myself, cam belongs to Na)

Niu Er teaching how to use Kose Seikisho Perfect Cleansing Oil & (Wipe-Off) Clear Lotion on this lady. Its said this wipe off method is the best method to remove all dead cells, black & white heads, making the skin soft, smooth, clean and brightens up. Read here for more step by step on how to use Clear Lotion. (See the comments I posted under the entry)
Methods I mentioned in the link are all being taught by Niu Er at the talk show.

Here, Niu Er using Kose Infinity Lotion Concentrate to moisturise the lady's face (If i remember, she is already a grandma but she's still so HOT! Skin very fair too!) Important point to note is to always apply with cotton pad in upstroke motions with firm hand, as it will prevent skin from sagging (due to gravity's fault!). Read here for more step by step on how to Tone & Moisturise. (See the comments I posted under the entry)

This lucky girl gotten 3 free gifts, a kiss on her backhand by Niu Er and got picked to be model for the Esprique Precious mascara tryout on stage! Read her entry about the talk show and be amused. XD~

After the talk, we have a group shot. And I look like I wore a wig there! OTL|||

Niu Er and the Fulgy Giant!
(I wore heels, sorry.. -_-") I was actually wanting to stand NOT too close to him. But when I stood beside him and I haven't even adjust my position, he GRABBED my waist and PULL me towards him so hard! OMG his arms are like SO STRONG! (Fufufufufufuu~)
I immediately freezed there and showed this silly look in the cam. URGH.. hate my expression =_= And he's so handsome yah??? =D
And I wanted to mosaic my face...

And a pic of us (Chistie left early :(~ ) after the event... I, as usual can't resist to make goofy expressions to the cam.

And here's my homework done for the talkshow. Most of the time Niu Er was talking too fast, so I didn't note down and my writing is like.. Only i can read it?
But definitely my drawing is better than my writings. hehex~ =p
2 things I want to share with you girls that I learnt from the talk, was how to massage your eyes (to deminish dark circles) and massaging your body (for... If i remember correctly, blood circulation?)
Just follow the drawings and you'll not go wrong. But remember, the force that comes from your fingers will roughly weigh about 2kg. You press hard on a weighing scale till it hits 2kg mark. That would be the exact force you be using to press the points at your eye area which I indicated.
As for the body, you need to use ALOT of force. Till you feel sore at the areas you pressed.
Sounds scary eh? ^_^"

KOSÉ Walkthrough II - Yet Again

After the talkshow, I joined yet again another round of contest hold by Na. Winners gets a $100 voucher from Kose!
And you guess it right, I won again! Along with Hazel too! *dances in circles with Hazel* (And we made a pair of Lucky Donkeys!)
Take a look at winner's comments AKA good tips for all of you too~

KOSÉ Walkthrough III - The Finale

On Tuesday 7 Sep, I went down to Taka to get my voucher. I'd already made up my mind to spend more than $100 to get the things I wanted like Cleansing range, Sunblock, Toner.. I tot I would spend wayyyy more than $100. But guess what?!

These 3 promotion packs only cost me $97 extra (after deduct $100!) *Hint hints to hazel if you hadn't gone down to Taka yet! ^.^
In addition to the offer, I have Takashimaya Debit Card too! Yeah to rebates! ^o^y~

Here's what I've gotten and the breakdown of the promo pack:

1. Seikisho Promo Pack $73
- Perfect Cleansing Oil (Full size)
- Clear Lotion (Wipe-Off Lotion) (Full size)
- Sekkisei White Liquid Wash

**Infinity Concentrate comes in I & II. (I - Moist, II - Very moist) Info grabbed from HERE

Loving the cute miniature Powder foundation~

The one drawn with arrow is the shade of the foundation. All the miniature foundation are in this shade.

I shall feature this pretty one because... I love the fragrance to the MAX! When I first applied to my skin, I smell something very very very familiar, but I just couldn't make out what it was then. Now I think the fragrance smells exactly like the Green Tea I often drink! [edit 14/09: After sometime, I realised its more like 'Tie Guan Ying' (Chinese Tea) than Green Tea!] The pure Green Tea leaves smell... No jasmine! LOVE!!~~
But I still can smell a little alcohol in there too. ^_^"
This pretty one was just launch in Japan on August 2010, even Singapore Kose website had not put up this range yet! (That's to say we are the early batch to try out Infinity range. =D )
I love the packaging too! Very luxurious... GOLDDD~~~
The Kose BA told me that Infinity Lotion Concentrate can actually mix with Sekkisei Lotion! You can mix both together into another bottle and use as your everyday toner, and you have both ingredients in your skin at one go!
Good idea isn't it?! ^___^ I shall do that!

Till then! Cheers! (●♡●)

Product Review: Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover

Thanks to BeautyMap, I was given a chance to review the Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover. Last week, I collected it and was given about 5 days to try out before I review it.

I know this product had been out long ago, few people had already reviewed and said that its was good. I'm glad that I'm given this chance to try it! ^_^

Here is the packaging:
I like the product design and packaging at first sight. Clear lookin' and slick. The advert is pretty nice too, and it always kept me wonder how effective this makeup remover is, able to remove all traces of makeup just like the pic... Hmmm...
It clearly shows the manufacturing date at the back. I assume its storage life is about 6-12 months if stored in cool dry place. I usually place cleansers in my toilet, so their storage life are shorten by half as the toilet is a place too moist to store anything. But I do not have to worry about storage life at current as I usually finish the cleansers within 3 months. ^.^

Before I continue more on the review, I shall show my LOTD that I wore on the day I collected my Biore MU remover. This is to test how effective the remover will be.
Here are the products I use on mi face:
- Shiseido AquaLabel White Protect Milk UV
- SANA Pore Putty Makeup Base Clear
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Liquid Foundation in Intensity 2.0
- MAC Studio Finish Concealer
- SANA PorePutty Moist Face Powder
- I nuovi Facescape in Malibu Barbie (Bronze)
On mi eyes:
- Majolica Majorca Eyebrow Pencil
- (Kanebo)KATE Gel eye shadow GD-1
- Majolica Majorca Eyeshadows WT963 & BK922
- MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil Engraved
- Make Up For Ever Crayon Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil
- K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner WP #Super Black
- KissMe Heorine Make long & curl mascara
On mi lips:
- Shiseido Perfect Roughe BE109
- Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Sexy Enamel Gloss in Cool Beige

These are whole lot of stuffs that the remover is gonna remove!

As seen in the above pics, I have LARGE pores @ cheeks and nose. So the cleanser will have to go deep enough into my pores to bring out all the makeup-s and dirt-s. XD~

Using Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover
-As like how I normally would use a oil cleanser, I pour the content onto dry palm. Although the packaging wrote 1 teaspoon (so little?), I would prefer to use more as I have quite alot of makeup and waterproof eyeliner to remove. So I got about 2-3 tablespoon amount.
-I spread the remover all over my dry face and work in small circular motions to dissolve all the makeup. Immediately I can smell the floral scent, really smells nice! Love it~ ^_^
-Next, i put a little water onto my hands and spread it to my face to emulsify the remover, but when I open my eyes, to my surprise the remover didn't emulsify! It just turned watery but the colour of the content is still transparent clear. It was unlike the usual oil cleansers that I use which will turned milky white in contact with water. And the remover sting my eyes alittle..
-With the watery content now, I concentrate to work around the eyes, nose and lips areas.
-Then I wash off and pat dry. I felt my skin clean, refresh, non-oily! but.... an itsy bitsy dry on my cheeks.
-With just 1 round of makeup remover, it was not able to remove my waterproof eyeliner. I understand most girls would prefer a All in 1 remover so that they could use lesser time to remove stubborn/waterproof makeups at 1 go. But Biore had came out with a eye and lip remover , so there would be no reason why we shouldn't use the point remover to get rid of stubborn MUs. hahahx~
-Once again, I tried cleansing off with about 1 teaspoon of remover targetting to point areas. It was still not able to fully remove my eyeliner.
-Then, I use a cotton pad filled with my own eye MU remover and go through the whole face again. This is done to see if Biore remover had indeed removed all the makeup on my face. And the cotton pad only gave me specks of eyeliner remainings, no foundation or watsoever on the pad! Woot!
-I wash off with water again and check that my face is clear with all traces of makeup. Happy! ^_^

Notes
-I feel that this water-base formula MU remover's 'thickness' is equivalent to that of an oil cleanser. I had used several brands' oil cleansers, some are very thick and some are watery. Bioré's seem to fall just right inbetween this 2 categories.
-I read some reviews that the remover actually 'clings' to the face so alot of water is needed to wash it off. I didn't experience that mainly because I SPLASH water onto my face with alittle more force than a normal person would. (hahahx~ ^∇^") The force might have been the reason why I didn't feel that I need a longer time to wash off the remover.

Bioré Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover retails at $22.90 in Watsons. For a 200ml remover at this price, it is quite reasonable and affordable.

There isn't a reason why I shouldn't get this remover again in future. Basically it removes makeup well except for super waterproof MU like eyeliners/ mascaras.
For waterproof MU, a eye and lip remover should be used. My usual practice is always to remove eye and lip makeup seperately from the face. So I might also consider to try out Bioré Eye & Lip remover. =D (The pink packaging & content is SSooohh pretty!)

And lastly, BEAUTYMAP wanted the selected bloggers to take a picture of themselves with the product (or should I say, pic of the product with the user...). I am artistically inclined (BLAH~) so I be taking pictures of myself singing with the bottle!

Come to think of it, I always like to 'sing' with a bottle.... Here's another one of my goofy singing gif from long ago. Heh.
Bunny muffs as like Kim Heechul's!
Ok, alright, I shall stop my nonsense now. Yes, and I mean NOW. (⌐⌂⌐")

Thank you girls for reading my review!

Till then! Cheers! (●♡●)

Product names written and coloured in turquoise were given by its company to me for trial.
