Daily Dressup Shots

This post is somewhat the continuation of my previous X'mas-New Year post. ^^ (Read HERE for the previous post)

Last year Dec 16-19, I and a few friends went to Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur for a Cosplay event, Comic Fiesta 2011. The CF 2011 was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and we stayed only a walking distance away, which is the Impiana Hotel.

This is not my first time going to KL as previous was a work trip at some ulu KL industrial area, but I totally never been in KL town area before so most of the shopping places were recommended by my friends. Our first stop was at Nandos @ Sungei Wang. Heard that Nandos in Malaysia is 100% yummier than Singapore + cheap + no service charge! So yah, I tried one of their set meal. It was OK for me. My friends mentioned that the chicken thigh has shrunk and the taste wasn't that yummy like last time. They were rather disappointed.
The MILD flag is actually the spiciness level. I love adding the Garlic sauce from the bottle, my food taste nicer with the garlic ^^

Then we proceed to Sungei Wang for shopping, cos my friends said Sungei Wang is the best shopping place in KL, its like Far East Plaza, there are many levels and many shops in there and all their stuffs are CHEAAPPPppp~.
And what did I do? I went to a SALON to BLEACH my hair. (Not cheap though, cost me RM400!) Lolx~ I wanted to do it because I'm need my hair to be yellow for my cosplay on the CF Day 2. Below is a magazine which I was reading while I'm doing my hair. Fashion bloggers magazine! When will Singapore have their own Fashion/Beauty Bloggers magazine? o_O The contents inside the mag was very interesting! ^^

We then had Korean BBQ for dinner! Funny thing for this restaurant is that the staff in there said "SA WA DI KA!" to welcome customers. Isn't that THAI????!!! Lolx!~ Anyways, I LOVEEEEEEE The meat!!!! Its tender, thickness was just nice, so I don't find it hard to chew but yet, its thick enough to spill juices inside my mouth. *mouth watering meat~* I was still craving for more after we finished cos th BBQ set was shared among 5 of us. =p

And my small Haul @ Sungei Wang... Nothing much eh? I was in need of face mist (forgot to bring to KL) so dropped by Etude house to get 1 ^^ and look at the pretty paper bag they gave me~ BTW, it was a man who served me at Etude house.. Shouldn't singapore start recruiting male BAs now? We are like WAYYYYY behind! Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia they all employ handsome male BAs! SG should have too! >,<

After half a day of shopping & eating, we all PENGS cos we din have any sleep at all on the previous day!!!!!~ (The long couch was REALLY COMFY!~ <^o^<)

The next day was Comic Fiesta Day 1. I wasn't cosplaying as I only intend to do for CF Day 2. And here shows me in my newly bleached hair. (Its SUPA DRY I TELL YOU! >_< I think I could die if I don't mask it.)

And we're all set to go for the Comic Fiesta!!!!~ Before we were even there, we knew the Queue was super long (Some Q for 3 HOURS!) because of the overwhelming crowd!!! But thanks to someone *winks*, we get in the event hall in no time! hehhehex~ =p
This is my first time attending a cosplay event overseas and also my first time seeing the event hall filled with rows & rows of doujin booths! OMG!~ Artworks after artworks after artworks~ Lovely! (//^o^//)

Spotted a T-shirt painting artist! Her drawings are so cute! ^^ But I din have time to wait for her to finish painting so I din buy.. =p
And spotted many BJD, dolls and some alien sculptures too! Aren't they talented?! ^^

I posted about Nyanpire before and I was excited when I saw Nyanpire at the CF! hohoox~ So i bought it~ ^^
Of the various accessories I bought for myself, I find that the rainbow cake charm was really cute! And the gingerbread man bracelet (that is for my friend^^) Those jewelleries are HANDMADE! Visit tinypinc HERE~
And for the contact lens case, they are super cheap, cost about SGD$1 or so only. I bought a similar one in SG for $3.90! Basket.=_=

I do not know which korean character is the lady cosplaying, anyone knows? But it look fantastic! With the hair and everything! And then POKEMON!!! My fav nintendo game when I was young.. lolx~

Most cosplayers were all standing in the holding area walking around taking pics, including us. hahax~ I didn't really took alot of the cosplayer photos as I'm about 80% handicap myself..^^" Cos I need to carry my long skirt tail when I walk, otherwise people will step on it!

Finally, we on our way walking back to hotel via the overhead bridge. The bridge was always empty, so we jumped on the chance, had a few shots of our own before going back hotel. ^^

Data took some pics for me at the lobby. One of them is this which I'm sitting down! This pic enhances my blue eyes really well! Uh i mean blue lens~ While the blur pic on the right is taken using Iphone with help from Yuanie @ the corridor outside our room. ^^"

On the 4th day, which is our last day in KL, Hoshi and I went shopping. YEAH, at last! (Yuanie was at a photoshoot)
We walked from our hotel to Pavilion. There were tons of BEARS displayed outside the Pavilion, featuring each country's paintings & designs on the bear. Some of the designs are pretty obvious where its from, I compiled a few bears to show to all as seen below.
Anyone can guess the replica version of winnie the pooh is from_____???? And guess which is Singapore's???

We then walk to Sungei Wang, and on the way went in other malls to take a look.
I also went in Sephora and found out that their stuffs are sold slightly cheaper than Singapore! I din buy anything though, cos the lighting in there was Orange, I can't see the swatches whether they are beige/yellow/orange or wat! I hate their lightings <∆<"

And so.. that's about much for my first overseas trip to a cosplay event ^_^ Perhaps, the next time would be Japan! Looking forward to it!

I hadn't been blogging since last year (lolx). For past 2 months+ I was very busy with work, going out on my off days and preparing my cosplay stuff (More like resting when I have some spare time as I'm just too tired! lolx~).
Now I got lots of stuffs to write about: my collective haul, my birthday, my trip to KL, X'mas presents! ^o^ And not forgetting reviews! I hadn't been doing it for so long! Pls forgive me *bows* m(_ _")m

Anyhoo, hereby presenting my cosplay, me as 藤乐乐 [Teng Le Le] from 独领风骚 [THE ONE], taken by Data.  This is like my.... 3rd time cosplaying the same character? ^^" I never get bored of doing it cos its considered the least troublesome costume among the rest. And its my first time cosplaying outside of Singapore! Hence I'm very excited about it! XD~

We only experienced once which the power tripped in the morning and we have to brush teeth in the dark toilet even though its morning lolx~ Cos everyday in KL was cloudy~

While everyone is enjoying their Halloween night in gore makeup, ghostly costume and taking scary photos at Orchard, I, was sick & working, and I sat silently infront of my computer photoshopping my cosplay pics.... sigh~ What a quiet Halloween for me this year! ~_~"

2 months ago, I had a Solo photoshoot of my Sailor Pluto cosplay. I'd been thinking for quite sometime after last year Dec's Sailor team battle suit cosplay at AFA X to do a solo shoot because I think I always have badly taken photos and had to go through alot of processing inorder for it to look decent to the public eyes... ^_^" So, a solo photoshoot means I'll have more nice pics to keep as memory! =D
Anyways, this solo photoshoot turned out GREAT! Though I expected more like, taking at the rooftop, doing laying down, kneeing, sleeping poses.
But: 1) the rooftop door is locked because of that corpse in water tank issue. -_-" 2) It was drizzling ~_~""" 3) I was terribly slow in dressing up, only started shooting at around 7pm.
Nevertheless, I still end up with nice photos thanks to my beloved photographer friends, Juliana & Valefor. Not forgetting Jane & her hubby and finally Noshuu (my dear Sailor Jupiter) who lend me her tiara (green gem but I PSed to magenta) cos I forgotten where I put mine! Without all of them, this will not be a successful photoshoot! ~\(^o^)/~

Spend some hours today working on this portrait.. I couldn't find a photo with the same pose so I picked an appropriate one from the lot to plant into this artwork. Look at the 2 pics, talking about me being too thin?... the original Sailor Pluto is SKELETON! lolx~
I think I look really stun all the way for this photoshoot.. And if you notice, shadows appeared at below my cheekbones. I think I clenched my teeth too much cos I am afraid to laugh and form laugh lines...

On 25th June, after attending the Judy Lin's event which coincidentally was also held at the east side, I went to Cosfest X.1 @ Downtown East with Selphie and her friend. I'm not cosplaying or anything because, I am feeling lazy. 2nd, I am very busy with work. 3rd, I kinda fulfilled my goals by cosplaying most of the characters that I wanted to cos. ^^ Now leaving just a few more to complete and maybe I'll retire from it... Mmm~Maybe.. =p

As usual, every year its always held at DTE D'Marquee. They also open up the side tent but I didn't went in to see, I only roam around the Dome and inside it.

♣♣♣♣♣My new hair colour [Chameleon]♣♣♣♣♣

Posting this to show my recent dyed hair~ ^.^

Before was Blondie: (Sorry for that very red eyes, am super tired...)

I requested for light brown shade that has a little green tint in it. The guy bleached my black hair (near roots) and then dyed my whole hair light brown.
Apparently, the bleached areas doesn't absorb the browns and it remains as yellow.. Nice eh? ;D Wait till you see the latter.

After 2 days, it became this: Somewhat Hazel ?? (Taken with flash)

After 1 week:

It turned Greyish-SILVER!!!! Woots! Hhahax~
The area near the roots however remained as ash/dull yellow.

In addition, my hair ends are REALLY very dry and frizzy. I been putting on treatment masks and applying lots of oil serum after bathing to maintain it, however it still frizz.. =\
*FYI i didn't use Shampoo for coloured hair, I just use shampoo for dry hair, hence the dye faded super fast!

Am now thinking to get a dark brown dye to cover the greys, cos seriously, I look like a OLD WOMAN with GREY HAIR! (>O<") Lolx~

Today, I saw Tokyofashion.com posted a very interesting article about a group of around 100 guys & girls dressed up and did a fashion walk along Harajuku streets. This group of young people who dressed up in colourful clothings, call it the Harajuku Fashion Walk - Spring 2011.

Hereby sharing with all of you about Harajuku fashion, a little history about myself, past Singapore subculture experiences and some of my thoughts on the fashion in singapore. ^^

Ever since I joined the cosplay scene about 10 years ago (does that makes me sound very old? ^_^""), I started to enjoy wearing super weird combi clothings out and have people kinda 'stare' at me or even kids pointing at me with big eyes looking up. Lolx~ Till today, I still enjoys that, however the urge of wearing such colourful pretty costumes or gothic clothes went downhill together with my love of listening to jrock music. (Right now I love KPOP! =p~)
In the past, I wear costumes from home and even dare to wear it back home again at night. Some of my friends who were in costumes too, didn't dare to do that. Well, I totally understand that feeling. At times, I don't want my neighbours or people familiar to see me in such dressups so I'll wear slightly normal and change it at the meetup venue.
To the norms, they will definitely find this weird. Because it takes alot of courage for a person to be that daring. Needless to say, people taking your pics and posting onto STOMP. kekekex~ (well, 10 yrs ago there wasn't even facebook yet ok. =_= So, who cares!~)

June wished to do a portfolio using cosplayers as her models for a change. She asked me if I wanted to, I told her my face is not a good canvas to work on (I oxidize makeup real fast!), hence I look for the 2 best and fairest cosplayers I can find.. =p~

Storyline: Apparently, I only got to know that the two characters are inlove with each other despite that they are Sister (elder) and Brother (younger)... LOLx.. Its a twisted story, not bad for a shoot. Something interesting and nose bleeding kinda storyline I would look forward to!!! =p I don't follow Vocaloid but I know what it is, so still not too bad in capturing the idea of the theme within an hour or so, trying to direct & pose the cosplayers for better pictures to be taken.
Venue: Pinnacle@Duxton. We chose this place because the cosplayers wanted some place that either have a white background (kinda like having a wedding) or have alot of sky. We each spent $5 (Need to pay via EZ-Link card) to come to this 50th storey, there is no toilet provided. Once you exit the floor, you can never go back in again. The pass is only 1-way. Sucky~ =_=
Note: - Yuanie is a girl (June keep mistaking her as a boy, verbally only lah. But that makes me laugh so loud XD hahahax~)

June and myself went round to recce the place. Its quite big!!(Combine of 7 blocks) And so is the Wind too! (My head go flown to side ways, imagine how strong is the wind?!)

My take on Vocaloid Magnet Cosplay
Although we already have a professional photographer with us, I as always, like to take some pictures MY WAY, and PS them MY WAY and give it to the cosplayers, in hoping that they will like the pics I took for them. A different kind of taste I provide to the cosplayers besides what the main photog can give them. ^_^ I'm more of the PS-ing photog kinda person. hahhax~

Parapazzi
I'm being the parapazzi here, the top right corner is actually the tree leaves lah. (meaning I'm hiding behind the tree to take pics of them) hahax.. I snapped photos real quickly so I never really stop to allow the leaf to stop moving as I want to get their pose right in the picture before they change pose again.

The moment I snapped the above picture, they moved and I said "OMAKE!!!" They went....... O_O (hahhax...!)

The Wooden Planks (got any better name than this? =_=")

The last pose I directed..... of course is always the most romantic pose.. "Going to" Kiss Moment!!!~ (however thinking again, their head & hand pose can be improvised... Urgh, I'm too into directing already =_= *slaps ownself*)

Wind too strong
The wind was so strong that it keep blowing her skirt upwards and so I requested the famous "marilyn monroe" pose. Kekekex.. (But the wind suddenly stop! Darn it..) I had to draw that silly 2D art to show what exactly is she trying to do.. ^_^"

Finally!!! Time for Family Pics!
Meaning, its the end of the photoshoot already too~ We all starved from noon till around 8pm. June almost went crazy. LOLx..
Then we all walked to Central @ Clarke Quay to have a nice Japanese Ramen~~~ together with Na (thank you for waiting for me & us! =p)
I think I ate a 2 person servings! I'm sooooooo starved!!!!!!

I find this pic really nice, hence making it the first pic to start off this Cosplay journey~

I mentioned before that we had a upcoming cosplay project aimed to be done this year, and its gonna be a rather big group (at least for me =p).. The people involved were mostly from the below pic.. and there are a few more who joined in afterwards. But we are not doing the seifuku image, we going to do the BATTLE SUITS image!

If you are born in 1980s, and you read manga/comics, you should know "Sailormoon". Even those who don't read them knows too.. ^_^" Anyhoo~ On with the pic bombx!!!~

The whole team was lead by our leader Yuanie (none other than THE Sailormoon herself LOLx), and I'm so call the co-leader for my own team. (outer senshi) Yuanie indeed is a very strong motivational leader, or at least I feel so, she really can talk to anyone into cosplaying the characters she wants them to do!!! OoO!~

We stayed until NIGHT TIME! Basically we just stayed at ONE spot for the 2nd half of the day and didn't moved to other places at all as our team was too big, If we want nice photos, we gota stick to each other....
As usual, the tall ones stands behind.. Luckily I got Valerie wearing 27315890345 inch tall platforms with a tall hat, so she stands behind me. kekekx..

EOY 2010 @ Republic Polytechnic

I was not cosplaying on that day, infact I'm the photographer (not pro one..) and a nanny for my group of friends.
And again, if you are born in late 1970~1980s.. you should also know Fushigi Yuugi..another Old-School manga! I previously cosplayed 房宿SOI here with my friends. They decided to recos this image as they also seem to be really busy to finish up their other cosplay costumes!~

Here, I start off with Wendi as 翼宿 in 梦幻游戏 Fushigi Yuugi. Sorry I'm very bad in romanji names.. ^_^"

And Vanessa as 柳宿

Selphie as Serah and Joe as Snow from Final Fantasy XIII (Sel & Joe ARE a couple... hahax~)

And then i spotted Noshuu! As usual her Epic super big HAT! LOLx~ She probably gets 1cm shorter everytime she wears it.. =X

And Sakana~ (Ok, dun ask me their character names, I don't read/watch the anime! >,<)

BUTTTTTTTTTT THIS ONE I KNOW!!! Kim's Favourite!! LUFFY from ONE-PIECE!!! Oh my~ Isn't he CUTTEEEEE~~!!~ The arm already attracts much attention from me, but his looks attracts me more. XD~ Kim so gonna drools lake in Hong Kong now huh? =p~~~

Apparently, he was walking around with his huge arm and stopping here and there for the photographers. I didn't really notice that HE is actually a HE. At first I spotted 'her' and was attracted by 'her' bishie looks.. then, I loooooooked below... and SAW the chest was BARE!!! OMG, its a BOY!! *SLAPS both palms on CHEEKS and go \O0O/*
The moment i saw that 'she' is actually a boy, I quickly went chasing after him to take pics!! LOLx.. and in my mind, it said "I must show kim, i must show kim!" XDDDD

And thenn.... ANOTHER LUFFY came by!! So I SHOT it again! Muahahxx!!~~~ THIS IS FOR YOU KIMMmmmmmm~~~

Halloween!!!!!
What does it remind you of??? YES....SCARY, BLOODY, GHOST, GORE, TRICK OR TREAT, PUMPKINS....... PARTY!!!

Well, there isn't much partying for me this time round. More like dressing up, walking around, taking pics, Puri, and eat.... hhhaax~ (Isn't it what I always do? -_-)

The left pic shows 2 girls wearing Waloli (Japanese Traditional clothes with Lolita Fashion) and that's basically what I wore on Halloween night.
The picture was found on A+LIDEL official website long ago but the site's not available now.
From my understanding, the picture was drawn by a Japanese artist and his/her pictures inspired A+LIDEL to make costumes from the drawings into real clothings.

I found this picture 4 years ago and immediately, love this pic so much that I decided to custom make the waloli set with all the ready fabrics I could get.
So, is it called Dressup? Or... Cosplay?
I feel its not exactly cosplaying the characters as I do not have the exact prints and masks. So I'll call it as Dressing up but following the picture pose. ^_^"

Here's a studio (the studio is my home..haha..) shot of me and my friend in the costume took almost 4 yrs ago.. Don't ask what the hell is EnSu Dolls! I forgot why i name that! (-_-") Basically its the same pose with different backgrounds! hahahx~ I'm THAT great with photo manipulation. =p~ *prouds*

Halloween OOTD
And on Halloween, we intend to make some changes to our outfit...
We are the WALOLI DEAD DOLLS!!! (I look so dead, why my friend Nessa look so ALIVE! *headdesk*) And a MAJOR wrong wrong thing I did is to put that YELLOW FLOWER ON MY HEAD! (*headdesk x 999*)

And then, an INCIDENT HAPPENED!
While Nessa & me were hanging just outside ION Sephora, taking pictures by the stretch of empty walkway, we were approached by a cute lady & her guy friend looking all so excited with big eyes, asking where we buy our costume from. She complimented that our costumes are really pretty and touched our sleeves. Lolx..
Then as soon as I told her its custom made, she looked so sad! Then she gets enthu again and ask where we got the fabrics from, I told her its from overseas. And she turn sad again! XD~ She reminds me of PUPPY!!! OMG!!~ So cute! hahhax~
She complimented our costumes again and then she went off waving goodbye smiling~ ^.^v~ Sometimes its things like this which happens once in awhile on something that we made effort to do, and we get true compliments from strangers that made our day. =D ♥♥♥ Isn't it??? (I just lost a $50 note during my work on 30th Friday and 31st I got this compliment, it fills the hole in my heart ♥)

I love both Sel & Di's dressups even though both of them are rather different genre. Sweet & Cool~ We are all Fashion Junkies!

Outer layer is stretchable cotton, inner is jersey fabric. Now, i think this skirt can only be hand wash... hmm..
The 'eyes' and 'mouth' you see are fully made of chains. They are rather heavy.. and they are stitched to the outer layer.. I find it very punk lookin' and interesting so i got it! (even though its uber ex...) Its one and only piece or so the salesgirl said..

SKINC Pure Revival Peel: $30~40 (discounted)
I forgotten the original price as the BA was very kind enough to pay for me using her credit card first so i could enjoy the discount.
I had been using ot for sometime now, I find this is unlike any other ordinary peeling gel.
When gel is spread onto face, it immediately turned watery. Waits for 5-10secs, some parts already start showed residues which are actually the dead skin cells without even touching the gel yet. When starts to do circular motions, more dead skin cells (residues) formed.
After the gel fully turned to dry residues, wash off and you get a very squeaky clean skin! I like it! =D
However, daily use makes my skin rather dry..(Not the very dry dry, more to combi-dry skin. Note that I have combi-oily skin last time) So I need to control myself from using it too often (because i like the result too much~), although BA advised that it could be used every 1-2 days. I probably seeing myself using it every once a week unless my skin turns rough too quickly.
